Clamp bending machine and annealed wire cutter for reinforced concrete columns

    Get PDF
This study developed a reinforced steel rod bending machine for rods with diameters of up to 8 mm and annealed wire cutter for up to 5 kg for replacing manual intervention required to bend rods in reinforced concrete columns. This study aims to reduce the physical effort that could lead to occupational diseases, such as tenosynovitis, bursitis, muscle disorders. Clamp manufacturing possesses great risk for workers, who are exposed to injuries while using different cutting devices, such as grinders and electric saws. They also face potential problems such as muscular fatigue due to the nonergonomic and repetitive work positions. The proposed machine features a mechanical dragging and bending systems and manual shears. Additionally, the proposed machine has been designed theoretically and its effectiveness has been assessed through simulations conducted using the SolidWorks CAD software. A bending machine prototype for producing clamps is developed and its machine productivity is measured. Using this machine, approximately 300 clamps can be bent per hour without possessing any risk to the worker

    SemIndex: Semantic-Aware Inverted Index

[email protected] paper focuses on the important problem of semanticaware search in textual (structured, semi-structured, NoSQL) databases. This problem has emerged as a required extension of the standard containment keyword based query to meet user needs in textual databases and IR applications. We provide here a new approach, called SemIndex, that extends the standard inverted index by constructing a tight coupling inverted index graph that combines two main resources: a general purpose semantic network, and a standard inverted index on a collection of textual data. We also provide an extended query model and related processing algorithms with the help of SemIndex. To investigate its effectiveness, we set up experiments to test the performance of SemIndex. Preliminary results have demonstrated the effectiveness, scalability and optimality of our approach. This study is partly funded by: Bourgogne Region program, CNRS, and STIC AmSud project Geo-Climate XMine, and LAU grant SOERC-1314T012.Revisión por pare

The main feature of this tool is that allows the evidence management and the self-assessment of this learning involving cognitive and metacognitive processes leading to consider it one of the most important educational innovations in the university environment

Septima Conferencia Iberoamericana de Complejidad, Informatica y Cibernetica, CICIC 2017 - 7th Ibero-American Conference on Complexity, Informatics and Cybernetics, CICIC 2017; Orlando; United States; 21 March 2017 through 24 March 2017; Code 131437Adaptive learning systems constitute a new approach to e-learning systems, they allow adapting the content to the individual characteristics of students. Two of its main components are the domain model and the student model, whose key elements are the learning objects (OA) and learning style, respectively. LOs are digital educational content provided by the course while learning style will define how the student learns. Within this context the motivation of this study is to propose a partnership model for relating the LOs with student learning styles. After conducting a systematic review of previous work related a mathematical model of partnership LOs and learning styles by reference to their type of format and content type to determine which is associated LOs better student learning style is presented.

Tesi
